King Richard I and Salah al-Din's peace treaty?

After negotiating a peace treaty with Saladin in 1191, Richard I returned to Europe where he was killed in 1199. Saladin died in Damascus in 1193. The Fourth Crusade didn't get started until 1202, years after both leaders were dead. That crusade was pretty much an excuse for French and English forces to attack Byzantine interests. It was excused by the church as an attempt to absorb the eastern Orthodox church into the Roman church, and had pretty much nothing to do with the Holy Land.
