HELP Why was this guy SO rude?

So theres this guy who sits next to me in cl and he was ping down the pile of papers so he handed it to me. I reached out to take it then he snatched it away, said "oh sorry" in a really holish way, smirked and ped it to the guy behind him. It kind of took me by surprise because I've never even talked to him and I didn't think he was so rude. sometimes I see him staring at me which is pretty awkward too since i'm right there....so whyd he do this?
