Should I be happy or should I be cautious?

My man (28yrs old, never married, and has been in the navy for 10yrs) and I have been together since May 15, 2009 and we have been talking about our future together a lot. He has been underway for over a month now and he said he wants to get married. How this came about... He said he wants to take college courses to get an ociate degree. I want to finish school very bad but I can't due to finances. I got upset because the education is just sitting there for him and he doesn't like school but I love school and can't get any help because I am not married or have kids! I also don't have health insurance either. So I told him I might join the military because that would all be covered and he was not for it because our relationship would get much more difficult. So he called me from the ship and said he knew a way to get all that I just said. He said "why don't we get married, that we have been talking about our future together anyway!". Now he has been in 2 serious relationships before me and they failed because he was not ready for marriage at that time and they didn't want to wait. He said he also didn't want to ge married just for the benefits either because if that was the case, he would have been married and probably divorced by now? He said he loves me and the benefits are just a perk. What do u think?? Do u think he really wants to marry me or he is scared to lose me to the military if I were to join??
